Good day!
I wanted a share a couple lines and photos from my recent windsurfing experience at Langebaan while on vacation in South Africa. I was fortunate to find myself at the Cape Sports Center in Langebaan on boxing day. I rented a full rig for a few hours in the afternoon and had a blast. I believe the wind was blowing around the low to mid 40's. I had heard of Langebaan being a Kiter's and Windsurfers mecca and I was certainly not disappointed. What impressed me the most was the calibre of both Kiters and Windsurfers on the water - extreme & talented boarding. Living in Florida, where most of my windsurfing is done on the Banana River near Cocoa Beach, where the water is relatively flat & warm, it was a Rush to sail at Langebaan. The talented guy - I believe his name was Sean - who assisted me at the Cape Sports Center recommended me wearing a wetsuit vs the trunks & rash guard that I arrived with. I am glad I took his advice. In summary, a great time, with awesome & talented folks on the water and one of my best windsurfing days ever. I took a few sequential few photos (some attached) of some of the locals. Now to plan the next trip back.
Best, James
